This series arises from the insignificant and random and attempts to discover meaning through dialectic exploration, for example of the artificial vs the natural, chaos vs order, beautiful but ugly, fragile but repulsive, the concrete but abstract and the possible usefulness of ‘the useless’ as a metaphor for photographic language. The work gives significance to the insignificant through its own plasticity. The main strategy was to extract this material from my domestic environment and observe it with a clinical curiosity and care to the point that it developed its own separate existence and personality.
