Nails
This series focuses on the trivial that surround us in our everyday lives. I capture objects that may superficially lack interest or extracts from our daily lives (my polish nails), and through a pseudoscientific form of representation seek to open our senses through dialectical games, such as the artificial and the natural, the chaos and the order, the beautiful and the ugly, the disgusting but delicate, the concrete and the abstract, the useless and the possibility of utility as a metaphor for the photographic language. I am interested in the beauty of the mundane, and I question the nature of photographic representation through these taxonomies that I gather from my daily environment. I am also interested in the tension generated between the figurative and the abstract, and between the individual image and the block as a functional unit. The series gives significance to the insignificant through its own plasticity. Each piece of this series possesses an individual character that is reinforced through its relation to the whole. -

Fluffs
This series arises from the insignificant and random and attempts to discover meaning through dialectic exploration, for example of the artificial vs the natural, chaos vs order, beautiful but ugly, fragile but repulsive, the concrete but abstract and the possible usefulness of ‘the useless’ as a metaphor for photographic language. The work gives significance to the insignificant through its own plasticity. The main strategy was to extract this material from my domestic environment and observe it with a clinical curiosity and care to the point that it developed its own separate existence and personality.- _APelusas-compo2.0crop2

Moth
In the Moth series, I work from the incomplete giving meaning to something that a priori does not. I am interested in the observation of the blazing, of the free trapped, configured in a form that is both recognizable and abstract. I paid attention to an insignificant element, a moth, seeking through this observation the emergence of metaphors of the photographic language. The series, is presented in a way of an entomological study, seeks to convey a sensation of humming and discomfort, accentuated by the repetition of the sequence. I am interested in the tensions that arise between the delicate and the gross, the figurative and the abstract, the free being captured, between an individual image and the block as a functional unit. Each fragment has an individual character, which is reinforced by being placed in relation to the whole.- Panel-MOTH_web
